In this position, you will perform essential maintenance and operational tasks and projects at Garden of the Gods Park. You will also help to keep up with the demands that nearly 4 million visitors place on the park annually. This position will also help to provide a safe, attractive, and sustainable park experience.
As a Maintenance Technician II you will:
- Complete daily park maintenance, including removal of trash and litter, clear trails of debris
- Clean park facilities and restrooms; remove graffiti; and provide snow removal
- Maintain existing trail features and landscaping; restore natural areas; and provide noxious weed treatment
- Complete daily operational assignments, including opening and closing park gates and facilities; perform traffic control
- Assist with planning and executing trail maintenance and construction projects; purchase materials
- Organize, coordinate, and lead volunteer events
- Provide information about park rules and regulations to visitors
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:
- Methods and techniques used in general construction, maintenance, janitorial, and repair
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Ability to:
- Safely operate assigned vehicles and various equipment, hand and power tools, and machinery
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Minimum Qualifications

- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restrictions.
