The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Chief, Force Management in administering all aspects of the section. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.

Responsibilities

    • Assists the section chief in administration of the Force Management programs.
    • Responsible for various special Force Management Programs.
    • Administers actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System?Reserves (AROWS-R).
    • Assists in advising commander and staff on various Force Management programs. Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and performs functional review of data reliability.
    • Provides training to Air Reserve Technician (ARTs), Active Guards Reserve (AGRs), traditional reservists, civilian employees, etc. May be required to perform Installation Personnel Readiness duties and/or assist as directed.

    • Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
    • Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
    • Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance
    • Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).
    • This position is an obligated. You will be required to sign an obligated letter.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes preparing reports on strength accountability; assisting the management of the airmen retraining program; reviewing initial duty assignment information and updates all requested duty information changes; administering the Officers Performance Reports/Enlisted Performance Reports (OPR/EPR) and the military awards, and decorations programs for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and reserve members, providing technical assistance and reports statistical data.

EDUCATION: 1 full year of graduate level education a field directly related to the work of the position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

11. Knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, and publications.

13. Comprehensive knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software.
