Job Description
This intermediate associate serves the organization through the HR Service Desk as well as provides functional support to the US HR teams in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HR Information Systems, HR Business Partners, Leadership and Staff Development, Learning Services, Staff Care, Benefits, Wellness and Leave Management. This associate further coordinates and facilitates Compassion's orientation program and new hire setup, processing sensitive and confidential employee information with the utmost care and confidentiality. He or she may coach the work of other associates.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for employees seeking support from the HR Department. Answers a wide breadth of questions received based on experience and knowledge of the department and each functional area. As needed, provides introduction to each functional area for further employee support as appropriate.

  • Provides general program or project support to the HR functional teams. This may include, but is not limited to, employment verification, tuition assistance requests, bereavement flower orders, anniversary award program, branded clothing allowance, data purge or employee record clean-up projects, etc.

  • Coordinates and facilitates all aspects of Compassion's orientation program, including speaker scheduling, employee badges, schedule coordination, communications, catering, and collection and processing of all required new employee paperwork. In doing so, this incumbent ensures that each new employee is warmly greeted during orientation and has a positive first experience at Compassion.

  • Processes all employee record changes accurately and in collaboration with Payroll and payroll cycles. Accountable for the accurate entry, processing, and filing of all employee data records and paperwork, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • May provide some general administrative support including but not limited to, scheduling, ordering supplies, answering general inquiries via phone, email, and in person and guiding staff to the information needed.
