Job Summary
This position is responsible for creating, deploying, and managing HSPPR's social media platforms and website.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Brainstorm and create daily social media content relevant to followers and the strategic plan for the Colorado Springs and Pueblo locations, including distributing news, sharing success stories, asking for donations, highlighting adoptable animals and shelter programs, marketing events and fundraisers, shooting and editing promotional videos, and more.
- Develop and follow a strategic social media content calendar, understanding the ever-changing environment may interrupt/impact the calendar.
- Develop social media campaigns and fundraisers to increase philanthropic support of HSPPR.
- Conduct social media outreach on common platforms to grow fan base and increase awareness of organization in community by furthering HSPPR brand identity.
- Use best practices to write posts to maximize engagement on posts.
- Use Sprout Social to analyze data and drive social media posting decisions.
Website Management
- Responsible for functional integrity and maintenance of the organizational website including updates and corrections, troubleshooting, and repair of design-related problems. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Develop new website sections; extend and enhance existing site.
- Maintain standards and style for website.
- Use Google analytics to analyze data and drive change.
Other
- Review and proofread email campaigns.
- Upload and remove content from digital screens throughout shelter as appropriate.
- Commitment to the mission, values, goals and success of HSPPR.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
- Regularly sits at computer station.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of forty pounds with reasonable accommodations.
- Typically stands, bends, stoops and crouches.
- Consistently exposed to animals in the workplace and animal allergens under conditions with limited alternatives available.
- Periodically drives a HSPPR Vehicle to perform duties
- Occasional weekend and evening work.
- In the event that the Community Animal Response Team (CART) is activated, may serve as the Emergency Support Functions (ESF) #11 desk representative at either the City or County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and is responsible for serving for serving as the liaison between HSPPR, the CART shelter(s) and the Command Staff.
- Attends EOC related City and County trainings, including but not limited to completing the FEMA IS-100.b and IS-700.A certificates, to be prepared to serve at the ESF #11 desk.
Schedule Requirements
Schedule may include weekend and holiday work.
Working Conditions
This is an on-site position. There is potential for a hybrid schedule after 90 days of employment.
Education/Experience Necessary
- Bachelor's or technical degree or equivalent training and experience is required.
- Experience with creating social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok; collecting photos, videos, and stories for social media (portfolio required).
- Experience photographing animals a plus.
- At least 3 years' experience managing websites.
- Strong web design skills.
- Experience with WordPress and Drupal required.
- Must be able to understand branding and how to shape innovative brand messaging.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics reporting.
- Knowledge of and capability to implement SEO best practices.
- Capacity to learn quickly and integrate new technologies.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment as a team player with a positive attitude.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, set and meet tight deadlines, and be results-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Highly motivated, organized and detail oriented; a self-starter who can take accountability and ownership of projects.
- Ability to hold oneself accountable, be innovative, think outside the box, and be trustworthy.
- Prior experience in a non-profit fundraising environment required.
- Strong passion for helping animals.
