Cimarron is seeking a Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area.

Key Duties:

  • Maintain secure voice and data communications systems and circuits for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), supporting installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure telecommunications systems meet security, compatibility, and compliance requirements with Government and industry standards.
  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance for all DRSN hardware, software, and OEM components.
  • Operate, maintain, and administer all DRSN systems, including hardware, software, and database management tasks such as modifications, reporting, documentation, and backups.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying and resolving network or equipment issues to maintain optimal operation.
  • Manage cryptographic rekeying, site operation logs, and inventory databases to ensure accuracy and security compliance.
  • Maintain and update trouble tickets and incident reports in the ticketing system, ensuring timely documentation, escalation, and resolution.
  • Deliver responsive and professional client support, providing timely communication and maintaining high customer satisfaction.


Requirements

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. 
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.  If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance w/ SCI Eligibility.
  • 2 or more years of direct experience supporting the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN).
  • Hands-on experience with DRSN nodal maintenance and secure communications instruments such as STE, vIPer, VoSIP, IST-2, TXP, and DMCC.
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).

Desired Skills, Experience, or Education:

  • Red Switch certificate of training, or at least 4 years of direct Red Switch experience.
  • Certified in Command and Control Switching Systems (CCSS) Operations and Maintenance, obtained from the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) at Fort Huachuca, AZ.
  • Strong technical background supporting DRSN and DSS networks, including engineering, troubleshooting, developing Local Service Requests (LSRs) and Change Requests, and creating circuit diagrams and line button layout sheets.
  • In-depth knowledge of encryption hardware used within DRSN/DSS networks.
  • Experience supporting operational networks, technical control environments, crypto maintenance, COMSEC, or systems administration.
  • Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
