ABOUT US:

Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) is a Colorado 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Colorado Springs founded in 1998 to provide respite and specialized care for children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Various programs offer community support services to families and are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout their life span.

SCOPE

The Behavioral Health Clinical Director is primarily responsible for leading and directing the organizations’ medically necessary services that are referred to the organization. This position will supervise the Behavioral Health team in their duties, provide training, ensuring DORA compliance, and oversight and adherence to policies and regulation. The director will work with the Executive Director and marketing team to grow services and staff by increasing referral opportunities and general awareness. In addition, this position will develop collaborative partnerships within the community for Behavioral Health Services.

DUTIES

· Conducts routinely scheduled staff meetings for case reviews

· Completes the DORA required Clinical Supervision Course(s)

· Accepts referrals and assign to the appropriate staff person

· Facilitates in preparing client case files with appropriate paperwork – behavioral health and/or core services files

· Promotes cooperative working relationships and positive team atmosphere

· Audits and ensures DORA related licensing requirements for all behavioral staff

· Attends interagency and intra-agency meetings to represent the Behavioral Health Program

· Reviews Behavioral Health policies and procedures with the Contracted Supervisor and with the Behavioral Health team

· Projects a positive image to the other agencies and general public

· Researches and works towards increasing funding sources such as insurance companies, county human service agencies, HCPF and other companies

· Reviews and audit client records

· Supports the Behavioral Health team with an on-call after hours support system

CLINICIAN DUTIES

· Carries approximately 8-12 cases

· Completes clinical assessments

· Provides counseling, therapy and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs, provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required

· Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment

· Maintains confidentiality of consumer records

· Provides case management services as needed

· Documents intervention and program activity according to policies and procedures

· Attends in-service education and training opportunities, meetings, supervisory sessions and special events

· Maintains accurate and timely clinical records consistent with company standards (progress notes are entered within one day of providing the service)

· Consults with other therapists and supervisor as appropriate, in the performance of therapy and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required

· Other tasks as discussed with the Licensed Contracted Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be licensed by DORA as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT or Psychologist

· Minimum 4 years of experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferred

· Experience working in a Child Placement Agency preferred or Child Welfare Agency

· Strong communication skills required

· Experience in handling mental health crises

· Ability to work under high-stress situations

· Comfortable working with clients who have developmental and intellectual disabilities

· Proficient computer skills

· Ability to use an electronic health record to document clinical work

· Exhibits significant reliable habits, including timeliness and organizational skills

· Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and good driving record per SKSF standards

SALARY: $75,000-$85,000/yr. DOE; full-time/exempt position
