Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and knowledgeable Enrolled Agent or CPA Tax Accountant to join our team. Must have worked full-time in a public accounting office for a minimum of 3-5 tax seasons with verifiable references. Must have a personal system to keep track of tasks. Must have an understanding of debits and credits and be able to prepare adjusting tax journal entries. We will provide mentoring to help you grow in your career and tax knowledge. Must be willing to work 40 hours per week, and show up for work regularly and on time. Note: Pueblo, Colorado is a 40 minute commute from Colorado Springs, CO so you might reside either in Pueblo, La Junta, Colorado Springs or surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Conduct research on tax regulations and stay updated on changes in tax laws.
- Have a working knowledge of reading financial statements and understand double entry bookkeeping and debits and credits.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies.
- Collaborate with outsourced bookkeepers to deliver comprehensive tax services.
- Review financial statements for accuracy.
- Contact IRS/States to respond to clients tax notices.
Qualifications
- Must hold either an EA or CPA certification.
- Proven experience in public accounting.
- Proficient in using tax software for tax preparation and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration within teams.
