The Business Banker I is responsible for the acquisition, retention and expansion of high profile business banking members. This is achieved through the swift mastery of product knowledge and product possibilities with a focus on service to existing clients. The Business Banker I will be responsible for serving high profile business clients while progressively uncovering and delivering quality solutions to meet the key objectives of all business owners.

Business Prospecting – proactively uncover sales opportunities with high profile non-members and provide proposals in order to obtain the business as a member. The primary focus at this level will be businesses with basic to moderate needs.
Relationship Management – conduct meetings with existing business members
Networking – build relationships with referral sources, engaged in networking activities, trade shows, chamber meetings, etc.
Service Center Involvement – May provide ongoing business education to service centers, including at least one daily huddle with the staff

Minimum formal education required for this position:
Knowledge consistent with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study
Minimum work experience:
6+ months business to business related sales experience, outbound sales experience, or similar product cross/up-selling experience
Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:
Relationship Management – influencing, advisory, and acquisition skills
Problem solving – superior problem solving skills
Communication – superior verbal and written communication skills
Initiative/Sound decision making/managing the member experience with credit union regulations and procedures
Able to operate a motor vehicle
Working Knowledge of financial services and offerings
(Preferred) Basic knowledge of business economics and banking
(Preferred) Working knowledge of commercial/small businesses
Environmental, physical and psychological requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate controlled environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, handling paper, and operating a telephone. Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to multiple member locations weekly. Must be able to be flexible with work hours to accommodate member needs for meeting times.
